Christmas is Done

Hello all!

I hope everyone enjoyed some wonderful happy time at Christmas with your loved ones.  We have had several get togethers with family and friends. I have eaten too many wonderful meals.
Now the time has come to reflect on the New Year and what we hope to accomplish.  This year my "word" of the year was PURGE.  I think I was pretty successful at that.

Next year, my focus will be on health and fitness.  I will be back on my Weight Watchers plan and trying to move more and eat less, (or at least eat healthier) LOL.

I have sorted through some UFO's that I would like to accomplish this year. I have also started a Crabapple Hill needlework project.  I love having something in my hands to work when I am not at the sewing machine.

I would like to spend more time on my blog.  I am inspired by other blogs that I read on a regular basis and I would like to inspire someone as well.  Maybe consider it a little 'payback', or thank you.

It is time to get my planners and plans in order and on paper. I find when I write things down, I am more inclined to complete.

What will you be focusing on in the New Year?

Hello; Whoppeeee  finally figured out how to upload pictures from my ICloud to the blog. At least, I hope I have. LOL
I wanted to show some recent finishes so here goes... keep your fingers crossed.

These two were sent to two very special ladies that previously worked for me.  In appreciation of all their hard work.

This was started many years ago, I don't know why I thought I needed a million blocks. I used what I had already done and made a nice lap quilt for fall. Bear Paw variation.
Cute pattern.  Sparklettes.  Very easy and quick to go together.

That's all for now.  Have a great day.

I cannot wait for Turkey Day!!!  I love having the family over and the traditions that we have created.  It is really a happy THANKFUL day!

This year has seen a lot of changes in our household.  Early this year, we realized, my sister could no longer live on her own.  She has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.  She has no other family, served our country for 20 years in the military and never married or had children.  So she has come to live with my husband and I.  My sewing room is now her domain.  It has been an adjustment, but we have all settled in and are all fine with the situation.  She will stay with us as long as possible, because it is what I would want someone to do for me!  It is a very sad disease and I wish every day that a cure could be found.

A few weeks ago, I made a major decision to retire.  I took my own advice , so often given to my associates.  "When the time comes where you no longer enjoy your work and can do nothing but complain, it is time to leave."
It is quite the adjustment after 32 years with one company.  Also, I have worked since I was 15 years old, with only a few months of no employment, due to pregnancy.  It is an adjustment, I am enjoying the time, trust me.  But many times during the day, my thoughts go back to work, and I think often of checking my email.....lol
I will get adjusted, I finally have time to sew all I want, and most importantly, I have peace of mind.

I have many, many things to be thankful for and I try to remember that everyday.

I have another finish to show as well,  This is ready to be shipped off to the recipient.
Next post,  I am having trouble showing pics, will have to work on that.

!!!!

Good Morning!!!  Where has time gone?

I have officially retired from my job!  I hope to have some time to get my house in order and QUILT!

The first quilt top I have (almost finished) is a quilt to thank one of my associates for their hard work and dedication.  I hope to have two done before Christmas.

Here are a few of my finishes for this year.  I hope to get back into bogland again as well.  I so enjoy everyone's blogs, I feel I should contribute.
